Discussions on North-South International transport corridor in Tehran ended
The next trilateral negotiations on the construction of the North-South International transport corridor in Tehran, Iran have come to an end. The meetings have been attended by Azerbaijani, Iranian and Russian experts. Coming together in Tehran for negotiations on the North-South International transport corridor, experts from Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia discussed the construction of a railway from Rasht and Astara cities of Iran to Astara city of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan was represented at the event by a delegation led by Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CSC Igbal Huseynov. During 2-day event, the experts made discussions on establishment of LLC that will carry out the construction of railway and confirmation of its regulations, defining of principles of exploitation of the above mentioned railway, passenger and cargo transportation, setting of norms of technical service and other issues. The sides have also come to an agreement on the text of the memorandum to be signed on foundation of LLC to be involved in the railway construction. The memorandum is expected to be signed by heads of railways of the 3 countries in Tehran in the 1st 10 days of February.
