Erdogan: “TANAP project, which we will sing today, will increase the strategic significance of Turkey and Azerbaijan”
“We will take a very important step in Istanbul today. We will sign the Trans-Anatoly gas pipeline project with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev,” said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a group meeting of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, APA reports.
Erdogan said that this project, which will cost USD 7 billion, will increase the strategic significance of Turkey and Azerbaijan. I wish this project will be profitable for our country, Azerbaijan and Europe.
Passing through Turkish territory Trans-Anatoly gas pipeline will connect Turkey-Georgia border with Turkey-Europe border. So, Azerbaijan will transfer gas to Europe via this route. 80% percent of the project belongs to Azerbaijan, 20% to the partnership- BOTAS-TPAO.
