Top News27.04.2012 14:30 Bulgarian premier to discuss diversification of gas deliveries to Europe in Azerbaijan
Bulgarian Premier Boyko Borisov will pay a two-day visit to Baku today. He told Bulgarian media before the visit that "in Baku he will inform the Azerbaijani authorities about his idea to diversify the gas deliveries to Europe." Bulgarian Premier said that if the terminal for liquefied gas is built in the Georgian port Kulevi, Bulgaria will be able to receive Azerbaijani gas at its own terminal, which is planned to be built in Burgas, and then to transport to other European countries. Borisov shared his plan of Azerbaijani gas deliveries to Europe at yesterday's meeting with Herman Van Rompen, chief of the European Council, in Sofia. In November 2009 Azerbaijan and Bulgaria signed the memorandum on mutual understanding on delivery of 1 billion cub.m. of Azerbaijani gas. Bulgaria earlier expressed a desire to build the connecting pipeline with Turkey. If the project is implemented, it will be able to import Azerbaijan gas since 2013.
