Baku. Aynur Aliyeva - APA-Economics. “SOCAR takes certain steps to increase quality of the fuel. This is a great program starting from 2004, requires large amount of funds and consists several stages”, said the SOCAR Vice-President for processing David Mammadov.
According to him, existing plants can produce only fuel meeting Euro-3 standard: “For production of Euro-5 standard, it’s needed a large amount of funds adn new technologies. Currently, SOCAR plans open a new oil-gas processing chemical plant in the north of Sangachal Terminal, area of Garadagh-Absheron in 2023-2025 and produce fuel meeting euro standards. By that time, we’ll produce fuel meeting Euro-3 standard”. Mammadov added that after launch of that complex, the existing plants will be shut down.
